Pherotools believes in a holistic approach to organic farming coupled with strong science. The westernised countries achieved great success in organic farming by using data and science. At Pherotools, we place emphasis in correctly identifying symptoms of pests, diseases and environmental stress which is crucial for the long term management of pests and diseases. As they say, prevention is always better than a cure.
Lack of knowledge of the problem you are facing leads to incorrect choice of pesticides, ineffective control, pesticide resistance, over-reliance on chemicals and salesman selling you products you don’t need (and don’t work). As Sun Tzu said “know your enemy and know yourself and you can fight a hundred battles without disasters”. Isn’t it better to identify and treat the problems early (and successfully), than to spray a hundred times and hope for the best?
Organic Farming for Youths
Pherotools is an advisor for Centre for Environment, Technology & Development, Malaysia (CETDEM), an independent, non-profit organization committed to improving environmental quality through the appropriate use of technology and sustainable development. We collaborate with CETDEM in conducting numerous organic farming courses and training sessions for aspiring organic farmers in Malaysia.
